COCOBOLO WOOD

This is a slimline pen with cocobolo wood. Cocobolo is a relative of rosewood, and is heavy and oily. It has incredible variations in color, going from a bright orange to a deep dark-chocolate brown. Some people may have allergies to cocobolo dust, so I'm fairly thorough when I clean and polish the pens, vaccuuming the tubes out when I'm ready to assemble. It does smell wonderful when it's being turned, and the high oil content in the wood makes it difficult to finish - unless you're using wax and polish, like I do.
